Yes, You can sell your experience! Someone in the world will benefit from reading it!
You might ask “How do you know that you have some experience worth reading — something people will pay for it? “
The way I am looking at it, for example, where have you traveled, what did you learn, and what mishaps can you help others avoid? Yes, there are already hundreds of travel books — but who needs a huge book on an entire continent when they’re only visiting the locale you know so well? For that matter, who knows your own city better than you? Wouldn’t you love to show it to tourists and business travelers yourself? Do it! Twenty-seven years old and like to bar-hop? Create your ultimate insider’s guide to the best spots in town.
Another example I can think of taken from the experience of other “average” people (or at least, they thought they were average)…
A housing contractor, considering semi-retirement, is looking for an easier line of work. E-publishing sounds interesting, but he’s spent his entire professional life with his head in blueprints. What could he possibly have to offer as an author? Hello? He’s a walking gold mine to any homeowner or potential homebuyer! Like very few others on this planet, he knows what contracting scams to watch out for… how to get lumber at cost… traps to avoid… checklists galore for doing just about everything in home construction… and much, much more. Sell it, fella!
After all, you’re unique, right?
You know stuff other people don’t… things people would pay to know.
So you’re already very close to profiting from your knowledge and experience.
Now you just need to know…
* How to pull it out of your brain
* How to publish it
* How to sell it on the Net
LifeTrackers give your “experience farm” a handy “fertilizer” to foster your experience trees and harvest your experience fruits! It gives you tools to capture your personal history, chronicle your experience and actions, and turn them into worth-reading stories. It also enables you to build traffic that will buy from you on the Net.
An excellent article! I have been running my own site now about 2.5 years. During that time I have created quite a collection of articles. My site has plenty of local visitors, but still it’s hard to make money out of it.
One reason for that is the language – Finnish. English would have much more potential. So I try to build up an English version of my site and see if that works.
E-publishing is the emerging trend and this is the only solutions to increase the circulations. Most of the publishers are digitizing their publications in order to increase the circulations for their print publications. There is a website http://www.pressmart.net providing the services of digitization for print publications like magazines, books, newspapers, journals, etc.
